The Neuroscience of Memory

Eleanor Anne Maguire (born 1970)[1] FMedSci is an Irish neuroscientist at University College London.[9][10][11][12][13]

Fascinating  48min long lecture- as well as 10 min. of interesting questions and answers- about the brain, memory and the latest technological advances which help us understand our “universe within”. Ms Maguire says that memory “is not about the past, but about the future.” memory is a survival strategy, to help us decide what to expect and what to do. (at aprox min. 28: watch this video to find out about the plasticity of the human brian: London cab and bus drivers were observed as their hippocampus became larger after using it to memorise the streets of London, only in the space of 3 and a half years the increase was notable. Also find out a bit more about the multimodal nature of scene imagery).

With the use of hypnosis we may be able to explore and train our brain and, as latest scientific studies suggest, change its plasticity to our advantage.
