The power of hypnosis in promoting control over our perception and experience

Technological advances are providing us with  prove of the particular brain activity produced by a hypnotic state. Here is an article that talks about the use of Magnetic Ressonance Imaging (MRI) and the effect of hypnosis in inducing colour hallucinations.
